Plant Description

Cyrtanthus breviflorus is a hardy, bulbous evergreen plant that will grow best in marshy areas. It has bright green strap-shaped leaves. The tubular, bright yellow flowers carried on long stalks throughout the year make this a particularly appealing plant. A good garden subject and container plant. It flowers best if kept moist in summer, but can be allowed to dry out in winter.

Interplant Cyrtanthus breviflorus with small moisture-loving grasses or sedges or plant en masse in a damp spot.
