Delosperma ashtonii has flattened, three sided succulent, hairy leaves. It forms a low, creeping groundcover to 10cm high which flowers in summer and early autumn when it is covered with magenta flowers with a light coloured eye. The flowers attract insects to the garden.
Delosperma ashtonii requires a sunny spot and well-drained soil, particularly in winter. Drought tolerant. It sprouts annually from a tuberous rootstock.
