Kniphofia multiflora is a multi-stemmed, robust plant. It can readily be distinguished from other South African species by the exceptionally long, narrow raceme. Leaves can be up to 1,8 m long and the inflorescence 2,5m. The buds are greenish white to orange-yellow tipped with red, becoming whitish to yellow as flowers open. It is confined to marshy areas.
Kniphofia multiflora must be planted en masse for the best effect. It is quite spectacular when in flower. Plant it in a damp spot for best results. Cut back after flowering. It can be interplanted with Juncus ssp.
