Kniphofia porphyrantha is usually small in stature and multi-stemmed. Leaves first erect, later reflexed, 40cm long. The margin and keel is smooth. Flowers range in colour from orange tipped with yellow to lemon-yellow.

Kniphofia porphyrantha  is one of three species that occurs in Gauteng. Plant in a well-drained soil and to not overwater. Keep dry in winter.
