Kniphofia triangularis is an evergreen, clump forming perennial. The mid green leaves are strap shaped, channeled and arching. The red/ orange flowers are tubular and borne in dense terminal racemes at the ends of erect stems. Roots are rhizomes which may aid its spread. It occurs naturally near stream banks in mountain grassland.
Kniphofia triangularis prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soils. It does not become very tall and is suited to smaller gardens and requires little maintenance. Plants may be cut back after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance. Large clumps may be divided in spring.
