They appear in masses in spring. It grows best in full shade but also fairs well in dappled shade. It makes a good screen for a shady position where other plants would struggle. It is a lovely garden plant ideal for inter-planting with other shrubs, its beautiful showy flowers will surely attract attention and birds and insects to the garden.
