The soft, lanceolate leaves form pairs along the square-shaped stem . Flowers are crowded into spikes at the tip of the stems. Colour varies between white to mauve. It must be kept moist and the spreading rhizomes will ensure that the moist spot will be covered very quickly.

Grow Mentha longifolia in a damp spot where it can be contained.
