Moraea huttonii is a bulbous perennial that can reach heights up to 1m tall. In this species the leaves are generally longer than the flower stalks and about 25mm wide and straplike with incurved margins. Although the leaves are longer the flower stalks tend to stand out beautifully as the long leaves tend to droop. The flowers borne during between July and December are a bright yellow with deeper yellow nectar guides, these flowers are also sweetly scented and attract many pollinating insects to the garden.
Moraea huttonii is a hardy garden plant ideal for a mixed border or raised garden beds and makes for a lovely feature next to a pond. The lovely flower display will ensure a lovely colourful display throughout the season.
