Portulacaria afra is normally a small, succulent shrub that occurs in the drier regions of South Africa ad is well-known for its ability to extract certain pollutants from the air.
Portulacaria afra 'nana' is a low growing variety of the above and hardly reaches a height of more than 30cm. It is a drought resistant succulent groundcover that grows in full sun, is used to stabilise soil. This plant is a beautiful, evergreen groundcover in a garden.
It is relatively slow-growing and has a very tidy habit.
