Rhoicissus rhomboidea is a vigorous, evegreen climber. All younger parts are covered in soft rust-coloured hairs. It has dark green leaves which are paler below with rust-coloured hairs on the underside. It bears small yellowish green flowers in Spring which turns to red to purple-black small fleshy fruits that attracts birds to the garden.
It is a good hedge/screen when trailed against a trellis, pergola or fence. It is also ideal for container planting and indoor planting.
