Rumex woodii is an erect perennial herb that reaches heights up to 1m. The leaves are tapering to both ends about 150x4mm large carried on long erect stalks. The flowers are carried on terminal branched inflorescence and are a yellow to coppery red colour borne in summer between October and January. The reddish seeds that follow are almost more decorative than the flowers.
Rumex woodii is a very decorative species and is ideal for a rockery or mixed border or a backdrop at the back of a garden bed.
