Ruttya ovata is a scrambling shrub up to 4 m high; older branches greyish with conspicuous scars.This unusual shrub has dense, many-flowered, terminal clusters of white flowers with purplish red spots in the throat.

It is an ideal plant from a small screen. Flowers are very unusual.

Plant Ruttya ovata in a good loam in semi-shade and protect from severe frost.
