Salvia chamelaeagnea

by Johan Wentzel

Salvia chamelaeagnea
Plant Type
Shrub
Salvia chamelaeagnea produces spikes of blue and white flowers throughout the summer and attract nectar-feeding birds to the garden. Plant in a protected spot.
Plant Description

Salvia chamelaeagnea is a semi-hardy, evergreen, small to medium sized shrub with light green leaves that make a contrast with the darker green leaves of other shrubs. Spikes of blue and white flowers that are borne throughout the summer attract nectar-feeding birds to the garden.

Salvia chamelaeagnea is an attractive, easy plant to grow in well-drained soil with lots of compost for full sun or semi-shade areas. Although it is not a Grassland specie, it does well on the Highveld. Plant in a protected spot.
