Watsonia pillansii is a robust, evergreen, clump-forming Watsonia with spikes of orange flowers on and off all year with its peak in late summer. It can reach a height of 50-100cm. It prefers moist conditions and full sun although it tolerates semi-shade. Birds and butterflies are frequent visitors.
Watsonia pillansii is ideal for mass displays and are good plants for soil retention on banks, offering spectacular displays when in flower.
Colour is very variable, the most common being orange. There is a nice light pink variety available as well as one that is almost red.
